V-A-H Marketing, originally known as Vent-A-Hood of California, was founded in 1947 by William A. Bergstrom, a building contractor. The company began as a full-service construction and kitchen remodeling firm and one of the country's first Vent- A-Hood distributors. Recognizing a growing need, the company incorporated in 1956 and began to specialize in kitchen appliance distribution.
Since 1976, the company has been directed by sons Richard and Robert Bergstrom and has become a leading West Coast distributor of premium luxury appliances and related products for the kitchen and home. Lines represented include Vent-A-Hood custom and standard range hoods, Marvel undercounter accessory refrigeration, Northland custom designed refrigeration, Aga hand-crafted ranges, Blomberg luxury electronic dishwashers, Capital high performance ranges and outdoor grills, Kamado Joe Grills, and Scotsman ice machines and companion refrigerators.
As a long time leader in the industry, V-A-H staff have held both local and national positions within the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and actively support and contribute to leading industry organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the Building Industry Association (BIS), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and the National Association of Home Builders(NAHB).
